"When
I began writing my book four years ago, I expected to find
an agent and a publishing house. But I discovered that the best way
for me to
assure that my book would be published was to publish it myself.
It gave me total control of the story and the art, and allowed me to
get the book out in a timely fashion It has been an interesting and exciting journey from the written
page to the finished product. It is something almost anyone can
learn. If you are a good promoter, it can be a more lucrative path. I
hope my talk, 'It's Time To Tell Your Story', will help
prospective authors and those with a book in process to learn some
of the steps toward getting their words in print." Caryn Lazar Amster

4. “The Bashert Experience”
This is a 20-45 minute presentation for Jewish audiences. It centers on the hundreds of “non-coincidental” occurrences that compelled this first time author to complete her book, The Pied Piper of South Shore, Toys and Tragedy in Chicago.
For five years, a constant flow of people, calls, emails and letters revealed more and more about South Shore life, Wee Folks and loyal customers’ stories from the other side of the counter. It demonstrates how inspirational and motivational the writing experience can be when a project is “meant to happen.”
